Intermittent Fasting- Is an eating pattern where you cycle between periods of eating and fasting. Intermittent fasting changes both sides of the weight-loss equation fewer calories in and more calories out. This eating pattern changes your hormone levels increasing the release of fat burning.
How Do I Intermittent Fast?
There are several different intermittent fasting methods all of which split the day or week into eating periods and fasting periods.
The Different Methods of Intermittent Fasting
1. The 16/8 Method: Fast for 16 hours each day
2. The 5:2 Diet: Fast for 2 days per week.
3. Eat-Stop-Eat: Do a 24-hour fast, once or twice a week
4. Alternate-Day Fasting: Fast every other day.
5. O.M.A.D - Eat one meal a day, and fast for 23 hours.
What are the Health Benefits?
Intermittent fasting achieves the goal of limiting calories ,during certain days of the week or during specified hours during the day. The theory is that intermittent fasting will help decrease appetite by slowing the body's metabolism.
